The Center for Biomedical Imaging and Bioinformatics (CBIB) belongs to the School of Computer Science and Technology, Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST). It's a professional research institution which focuses on biomedical image processing and analysis techniques. The main reseach direction is biomedical image processing and its applications in clinical medicine. The research includes computer-aided diagnosis system for breast cancer, quantitative analysis of liver fibrosis, computer-aided detection system for prostate cancer, remote medical treatment, consultation system and so on.
The CBIB consists of four professors(doctoral advisors)，two associate professors, one postdoctor, 8 doctor students and 26 master degree students. It has an academic advisory committee consisted of scholars from the USA, UK and Australia etc, and a technique advisory committee consisted of senior software engineers in world famous companys. The center possesses of 400 square meters research occupancy, including a computer laboratory with 48 seats, a meeting room, 5 office rooms and a storeroom for computer facilities.
The research work of the CBIB gains great supports and assistances from Wuhan Academy of Medical Science. We have cooperations with many clinic doctors and scholars who are from the Radiological Department of Beijing Tiantan Hospital, China-Japan Friendship Hospital, Beijing Friendship Hospital, Surgery of Tongji Medical Hospital, Radiological Department of Wuhan First Hospital, Urology Surgery of Wuhan Sixth Hospital, Radiological Department of Wuhan Changhang Hospital, Cerebral Surgery of Fudan University affiliated Huashan Hospital, Harvard University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology etc.
